Ambrosia - Somewhere I've Never Travelled

©1976 20th Century T-510
320kbps CD-rip

This is probably one of the best symphonic rock albums of the 70's. It's recorded, mixed and produed by Alan Parsons at Mama Jo's. All members were part of the Alan Parsons Project . It's hard to discribe the album because of the many styles. Where else can you get a baroque theme with 10cc-like vocals, a spanish fandango and ballroom dancing all in one song (Danse with George).

After this album Ambrosius went on as a more AOR band, more hits but less interresting.

Alice Cooper - Special Forces Tour 1981 (AVI)

Resolution 640x480). Running Time 46'57. Size: 500 mb.
.
In 1981 Alice Cooper and his band shot a special in Paris for the french television. This show has never been aired outside France but has a few great moments. His clip for "Clones" is hilarious and the live version of "Eighteen" is imo the best he ever recorded.  His make-up during the special forces tour was scarier then ever before or after.

The show is a promo event with tracks from "Flush The Fashion" and "Special Forces" albums plus some vintage tunes from his golden days. The show was recorded in Paris in December 1981 just before the launching of the "Special Forces" european tour. The first part of the broadcast was filmed in several typical and touristic places of Paris : le Sacré-Coeur church, la Rue Saint-Denis, Pigalle, and the Centre Beaubourg. Most of the songs seen here remain officially unreleased to this day.

The band: Alice Cooper (vocals) / Duane Hitchings (keyboards) / John Raymond Nitzinger Jr (guitar) / Eric Scott Pilipowitz (bass guitar) / Graig Kramph (drums) / Mike Pinera (guitar)

Intro / Generation Lanslide '81 / Under My Wheels / Clones / Pain / Seven And Seven Is / Prettiest Cop In The Block / You're A Movie / Model Citizen / Cold Ethyl / Only Women Bleed / Go To Hell / Alice Cooper's Self Interview In French / Vicious Rumours (Live) / Eighteen (Live) / Billion Dollar Babies / School's Out (Live) /Who Do You Think We Are (Live)

John Lees - A Major Fancy

©1972 - LP released Harvest SHSM 2018, July 1977
CD: 3 bonus tracks*, Eagle EAGCD 107, 18th October, 1999

John Lees is best known as guitarist and vocalist with Barclay James Harvest. To date, Lees has only released one solo album, "A major fancy". This was recorded in 1972 when the band was changing labels from Harvest records to Polydor, and was therefore shelved without being released. It eventually gained a commercial release in 1977 on the Harvest Heritage label. A single was recorded in 1974 containing cover versions of The Eagles "Best of my love" and Eric Clapton's "You can't get it". The single is now very collectible, but the songs can be heard on the CD release of the album.

The Beatles - Hell

©2008 Marshall Records 23-EOIO-06
192 kbps incl. artwork.

After releasing the hugely successful HATE in 2006, Pete ’Best’ Zarustica and The Beatles decided it was time for another round of remixes to protest against the war… and that’s just what you get!

The Beatles' HELL comes to serve the world with classic tunes remixed for your listening pleasure. The Fab-Four poets of Limbo – or Liverpool – decided to pay a visit to HELL, like Prince William and loads of other soldiers who are still fighting this ludicrous war in the Middle-East. They took a ticket to ride in the same circles Dante described TR-708 years ago, but didn’t enjoyed it - in fact they regret it. But you can enjoy this trip (and it is a trip) downloading NOW their latest LP, The Beatles' HELL, yeah!

Electric Light Orchestra - Unreleased Secret Messages (bootleg)

2010 AppleCore 2LP1CD
320 kbps

Secret Messages is the tenth studio album by Electric Light Orchestra (ELO), released in 1983 on Jet Records. It was the last ELO album with bass guitarist Kelly Groucutt, conductor Louis Clark and real stringed instruments, and the last ELO album to be released on the Jet label. It was also the final ELO studio album to become a worldwide hit upon release.

The record was originally going to be a double album, but this plan was thwarted by Jet's distributor, CBS Records, claiming that producing a double vinyl album would be too expensive; as a result, leader Jeff Lynne would have to reduce it to a single album. The double album version of the album was digitally recorded and would have been ELO's first compact disc.

So, here you have the double album as Jeff intended it. The 'Hello Old Friend' is here with the outro which is after 'Rock 'n' Roll Is King' on the original released album. It has the rare track 'Beatled Forever'. It's the only track which has less soundquality but hey, it's ultra rare.

01. Secret Messages  4:43 / 02. Loser Gone Wild  5:27 / 03. Bluebird  4:13 / 04. Take Me On And On  4:57 / 05. Stranger  4:27 / 06. No Way Out  3:28 / 07. Beatles Forever  4:19 / 08. 4,5 Gb DVD.
I received the discs thru a friend. I didn't compile them and I don't know who did neither but he or she did a great job. I provide the information as I received it.

This new set of DVDs will provide a significant upgrade to much of this material in terms of presentation, source material and audio and video quality and clarity.

This is the 1st of four discs (3 volumes plus a disc of bonus material).

The details for Disc 1:

Beat Club: Everybody's Talking
Derek Taylor intro
The Music of Nilsson
The Smothers Brothers Summer Show
Playboy After Dark
Skidoo Trailer

- Notes:
- The Playboy clip has been edited together from two different sources to present the material in its complete form and in the best available quality.
- The Music of Nilsson (aka the first BBC show) is from a brand-new source and has been subject to full audio restoration. After this, no-one will feel the need to mourn the lack of an official release of this or the LTOSITN telecast.

Violinsky - No Cause For Alarm

©1979 JET LP 219/EPIC 47.209
320 Kbps Vinyl rip

Violinski were formed in 1977 by Mik Kaminski, John Hodgson and John Marcangelo and were originally promoted by Jet Records as an offshoot of the Electric Light Orchestra. The band could have achieved major-league status and more hits than their 200,000-selling debut single 'Clog Dance' if they only had been supported a little bit more by Jet Records.

That first single aside, Violinski releases suffered poor distribution and were quickly deleted to become instant collectors' items.

Tracklist: A1 Cricket, Bloody Cricket / A2 (More Than A) Sudden Romance / A3 Rosanna / A4 Need Your Love / A5 No Cause For Alarm / A6 Clog Dance / B1 Save Me / B2 Time To Live / B3 Cow Caped Crusader / B4 Die Aband Glocke

The Pousette Dart Band's music is like the Eagles (the Long Run) or The (Nitty Gritty) Dirt Band (American Dream). The single "Amnesia" was a minor hit and "Fall On Me" was featured in the TV series "Lost" but still, most people will never have heard of them. You can listen to the samples of this album here.

Flatman - Hell-Bent On Glory

©2004 Flatman Halycon Music 404258800045
320Kbps CD-rip
-
The origins of FLATMAN go back to 1997. FLATMAN makes no secret of who their main southern rock influences are: Molly Hatchet, the Allman Brothers and Lynyrd Skynyrd. No surprise here because band founder Stefan Kossmann startet out with a Lynyrd Skynyrd cover band. The guitar riff on "That's All I Need" is cloned from Sugerloaf's "Don't Call Us, We'll Call You" but who cares :-)

Roger Glover - Butterfly Ball and the Wizard's Convention

©1974/1976 Purple Records
this compilation ©1989 The Connoisseur Collection
320kbps CD rip - 192Mb incl. coverart.
-
Deep Purple have always been known for their contributions to the hard rock genre. Despite this heavy reputation, the individual members have all worked outside the rock field from time to time on solo material or sessions, exploring different and often seemingly unlikely musical avenues. This compact disc brings two such projects together for the first time.
-
THE BUTTERFLY BALL, masterminded by Deep Purple bassist Roger Glover shortly after he had left the band, forms the first half of the set and features appearances from many well known rock musicians like Ronnie James Dio (RIP), Eddie Hardin, Ray Fenwick, Tony Ashton, David Coverdale and Glenn Hughes.
Glover also turns up on THE WIZARD'S CONVENTION, which forms the rest of this package. Eddie Hardin brought Glover together with the then current Deep Purple members Jon Lord, Glenn Hughes, David Coverdale and numerous other guests. Side by side this material forms a fascinating side line to the Deep Purple story.
-
Track 17, Little Chalk Blue, is a bonustrack. Previously released as a 7'' vinyl single only. Four numbers have been omitted from The Wizard's Convention album to enable to fit two albums onto one compact disc at a budget price.
-
The Butterfly Ball: 1 Dawn 1:18 / 2 Get Ready 2:07 (Vocals: Glenn Hughes) / 3 Saffron Dormouse And Lizzy Bee 1:24 (Vocals: Barry St. John , Helen Chappelle) / 4 Harlequin Hare 1:26 (Vocals: Neil Lancaster) / 5 Old Blind Mole 1:13 (Vocals: John Goodison) / 6 Magician Moth 1:34 / 7 No Solution 3:16 (Vocals: Mickey Lee Soule) / 8 Behind The Smile 1:59 (Vocals: David Coverdale) / 9 Fly Away 2:22 (Vocals: Liza Strike) / 10 Aranea 1:37 (Vocals: Judi Kuhl) / 11 Sitting In A Dream 3:40 (Vocals: Ronnie James Dio) / 12 Waiting 3:06 (Vocals: Jimmy Helms) / 13 Sir Maximus Mouse 2:40 (Vocals: Eddie Hardin) / 14 Dreams Of Sir Bedivere 4:41 / 15 Together Again 1:36 (Vocals: Tony Ashton) / 16 Watch Out For The Bat 1:41 (Vocals: John Gustafson) / 17 Little Chalk Blue 3:48 (Vocals: John Lawton) / 18 The Feast 1:46 / 19 Love Is All 3:17 (Vocals: Ronnie James Dio) / 20 Homeward 4:17(Vocals: Ronnie James Dio)

TAR - What the heck?

Why TAR?
Due to a systemcrash and a complete windows failure I was forced to install a new operatingsystem. I have done so but my WinAce, wich was so loyal for over 10 years, won't work the way I wanted anymore. So I've been searching for a replacement for .ace to archive files. I found Peazip and I'll be posting in .tar files from now on. Tar is an universal used, non-compressing, archive system.

There is no use to compress mp3 files because mp3 is already a sort of compression of its own so you don’t get much smaller files. In Tar the files are not being compressed at all but they are bundled for easy web-transportation.

As there is no compression the .tar files can be renamed .mp3 and they can be played with your mp3 player as an album in one go. Sometimes, if tracks are mixed into eachother, it sounds even more like a CD cause there are no stops between the tracks.
Another advantage is that Tar files will stay alive much longer than the popular Zip, 7z or Rar files. That was the main reason to use .ace files.

I understand that not everybody knows how to open .tar files. Peazip, 7Zip, WinAce, WinRar, IZarc, Alzip, Bitzipper, Squeez, ExtractNow and ZipX all have the abillity to extract .tar files. Still there can be someone out there who isn't able to extract them...

LINUX

In the Linux, a .TAR file is the equivalent of a .ZIP file in Windows. It is an archived file containing multiple files and are meant primarily for ease of transport and storage. Many applications that you download will be available in .TAR archives. Luckily, just as it is as simple as a few clicks to extract a .ZIP file in Windows, it is equally as easy to extract a .TAR archive in Linux.

Step 1: Use your mouse and right-click on the .TAR file. This will bring up a menu of options from which you can choose.

Step 2: Click on "Open Archive Manager." This is the default option when working with .TAR files in Linux. Clicking on it opens the archive manager, which is the program that can read and extracts these files.

Step 3: Highlight the files from the archive that you want to extract. You can choose to extract all of them or just individual ones.

Step 4: Right click on the highlighted files and select the "Extract Here" option. This will extract it the to the same directory the archive is in.
